We are proud to help MTSU preserve these historic buildings!
Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) said its $54.3 million renovation of two of the campus’ five original buildings is on track to be completed this summer.
The project to upgrade Kirksey Old Main (KOM) and Rutledge Hall was announced in April 2024.
“This is the most ambitious and extensive effort of its kind in the history of our university, and it will preserve these symbols of our institution for many more generations,” MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee said during the 2024 announcement of the project.
Rutledge Hall will be transformed from a dormitory to an academic hall that houses the University Studies Department, relocating the department from KOM. It will also get an expanded lobby and new interior stairs. Read more.
